In a letter to the Andersonstown News, a former prison officer has added his voice to calls for clarification from the British government regarding the use of CR gas in Long Kesh.
In the letter, the ex-Screw confirms the toxic gas was used on October 16, 1974.
He also claims he too suffers from cancer and believes that it caused by the same gas!
CEARTAIS welcomes this intervention and hopes more prison officers follow his lead!
